Issuing Refunds
Refunds are host-initiated: attendees ask (usually via a support ticket), you decide, you issue.
How Refund Requests Reach You
There's no automatic refund queue — attendees contact you through your event's support tickets (they can pick "Refund" as the topic). Watch your support inbox, especially in the days before an event.
Issuing a Refund
From the order in your dashboard:
- •Full refund — refunds the entire order
- •Partial refund — refund a specific ticket from the order (e.g. one friend out of a group of four). The refund amount is that ticket's tier price — per-ticket, not arbitrary amounts
The money returns to the buyer's original payment method. Rally's buyer-side service fee is not refunded (the buyer paid it to Rally, not to you).
Who On Your Team Can Refund
Org owner, admins, and event managers. Door staff and promoters can't.
The No-Refunds Rule
If your event's policy is no refunds, the refund action is blocked for that event — the policy you promised buyers is enforced both ways. Cancelling or rescheduling the event still refunds properly regardless of policy.
Nice Side Effect: Waitlist Auto-Fill
When you refund a ticket for a sold-out event, the freed spot is automatically offered to the next person on the waitlist. Refunds don't have to mean lost revenue.
Impact on Your Balance
Every refund comes out of your owed balance. Refund after you've cashed out and your balance can go negative — future sales settle it.
